COBRAS CLUB NEWSLETTER

April 2, 2008

 

        President Larry Puls called the meeting to order at 7:10 PM at American Legion Post # 2 with 15 members present.
        Secretary Lynn Fehr read the minutes for the March 5, 2008 meeting. A motion was made to accept the minutes as read. Seconded and carried.
        Treasurer Dale Parker gave the Treasurerís report. A motion was made to accept the treasurerís report as read. Seconded and carried.

 

 

OLD BUSINESS

      The members discussed methods of repairing the COBRAS Club road. Crown grading

 and applying gravel was suggested to make the road more usable.

 


NEW BUSINESS


        Larry Bailey reported on glider events. He suggested we check the web site for more information.
        George Eheman presented information on The Old Timers Event to be held May 17, 2008.
        With no further business, Mike McKinney made a motion to adjourn at 7:50 P.M. Seconded and carried.

 


SHOW & TELL


        Larry Bailey showed a new battery pack, which is a Lithium Ion type battery.
        Tom Egbert showed his Fierce Arrow Control line stunt, which is in construction.
        Adam Shelburg showed off his P-51 Mustang under construction, which is from a Great Planes Kit.
        Mike McKinney showed his new helicopter and portable 12V charger.
        Roger Vaad brought a Hobby Lobby Miss Stick kit and plane that is under construction.
        George Eheman brought his new Quaker Old Timer powered with a 0.52 Glow Engine.
        Larry Puls brought his large SE-5 British Fighter kit from Balsa USA with a 0.91 Engine.

The Cobras R/C Club is made up of a friendly and helpful group of people.  We have a large grass field that is well maintained and is large enough to take off and land either North/South or East/West.  Not only that but there is nothing to run into when you are flying.  Itís all level open ground.  We have a map to the field so that you will be able to find your way.  The Cobras Field is on the west side of I-29 South of the Bellevue exit.  All but the last couple of miles or so are hard surface roads.  We also have posted on the Field the emergency number to give to the 911 operator so that the emergency unit can quickly find the Field.  That number is 54802. It could be very important if someone had a heart attack or other serious problem.  Be sure to come out to the Field and enjoy the food, flying and camaraderie. If you would like to show everyone your newest creation, that took so much work to build, then bring it to the Cobras Meeting for show and tell. The meetings are the first Wednesday of the month.  In January we combine the meeting with dinner at the Holliday Party.  If you wish to join the Cobras download an application form.
