COBRAS CLUB NEWSLETTER

 

FEBRUARY 9, 2011
 

       President Larry Puls called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM at American Legion Post #2 with 8 members present.
Secretary Lynn Fehr read the minutes of the January 5, 2010 meeting. Dean Dingman made a motion to accept the minutes with one correction. Dale Parker seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Treasurer Dale Parker gave the Treasurerís Report. A motion was made to accept the Treasurerís Report as read. The motion was seconded and carried.


OLD BUSINESS


       Finding a new meeting place was discussed. Keith Paskewitz made a motion that we meet at the Golden Corral until we are unable to meet there for reasons unknown. Adam Shelburg seconded the motion. Motion carried.


NEW BUSINESS


       The Club Fun Fly Events were discussed. There will be monthly Fun Flyís on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
       The Dusk Patrolís Fun Flyís will be the 1st Sunday of each month from April through October.
There was a discussion about installing some sort of a shelter that is more permanent. Research of a suitable type of structure will be done.
       Dale Parker stated that he has the club trainer plane and that it is ready to go except for a radio. Adam Shelburg said that he has a Futaba 4 channel radio he would donate to the club.
Dale Parker stated we need 5 mower blades replaced on the mower. Dean Dingman made a motion to purchase the 5 mower blades. Motion was seconded and carried.
       With no further business a motion was made to adjourn at 7:59PM. Motion was seconded and carried.

The Cobras R/C Club is made up of a friendly and helpful group of people.  We have a large grass field that is well maintained and is large enough to take off and land either North/South or East/West.  Not only that but there is nothing to run into when you are flying.  Itís all level open ground.  We have a map to the field so that you will be able to find your way.  The Cobras Field is on the west side of I-29 South of the Bellevue exit.  All but the last couple of miles or so are hard surface roads.  We also have posted on the Field the emergency number to give to the 911 operator so that the emergency unit can quickly find the Field.  That number is 54802. It could be very important if someone had a heart attack or other serious problem.  Be sure to come out to the Field and enjoy the food, flying and camaraderie. If you would like to show everyone your newest creation, that took so much work to build, then bring it to the Cobras Meeting for show and tell. The meetings are the first Wednesday of the month.  In January we combine the meeting with dinner at the Holliday Party.  If you wish to join the Cobras download an application form.
