President Larry Puls called the meeting to order at 7:21 PM at American
Legion Post # 2 with 17 members present.
Secretary Lynn Fehr
read the minutes for the April 2, 2008 meeting. A motion was made to
accept the minutes as read. Seconded and carried.
Treasurer Dale
Parker gave the Treasurer’s report. A motion was made to accept the
treasurer’s report as read. Seconded and carried.
OLD
BUSINESS
Field maintance was
discussed. May 10 & May 11 were picked as a COBRAS workday starting at
9:00 am.
NEW
BUSINESS
George
Eheman reported on the Old Timers Fun Fly. He explained scoring and the
flight rules. Food will be served at the field.
Ed Splittgerber reported on the Fun Flys and other contests of the
Western Flyers Club.
President Bryan Quick of the SWIFT GLIDER Club reported that there would
be a Thermal Duration contest at the COBRAS Club field on May 18 at 9:00
am.
Dean Dingman showed
our new raffle plane by Balsa U.S.A. The plane is a 1/6 scale Nieuport
17.
With no further
business a motion to adjourn was made at 8:02 pm.
SHOW & TELL
Dean Dingman showed his new Sopwith Camel. The engine is 0.91 covered
with Ultracote.
Bryan Quick displayed his F.A.I. Glider with 134” wingspan.
Ed Splittgerber showed his Albatross, which is under construction. It
was fully assembled and covered with 1/8” sheet balsa.
Keith Paskewitz showed a new IFO indoor Flying wing.
Adam Shelburg showed his finished P-61D Mustang. He also showed his new
Great Plains Skybolt Bi-plane.
Jerry Hakenson showed his new Park Zone Ember indoor flyer.
Howard Hough brought a CO2 engine for those who had never seen one.
Lynn Fehr showed 3 Sterling Kits, P-G1 Black widow, Piper Super Cub and
a Citabria.
He explained how easy it is to convert older Free
Flight Kits to R/C
Lynn reported on the COBRAS indoor flying action.
Keith Paskewitz reported that he has changed the Web Pages on indoor
flying
